On Thursday, January 11, I finally got the
leafy wall-hanging I was so excitedly waiting for, and then, I started working right
away on what I’d envisioned for our bathroom... my little jungle bathroom!
I had already bought the hanging plants,
the soil, one or two pots and two macramé plant hangers. So, I was ready!
Because the wall in our bathroom is slanted
and higher on one side, it was very difficult to secure my tapestry onto the
wall by myself, and I wasn’t too happy at how things were coming along when I started. Thankfully, the following day the Fisherman
was able to help me perfectioned what I had done thus far. We corrected all my slipups, filled up
holes and painted walls. Then, we cut
the tapestry to fit that wall, glued it onto the wall and framed it. We also reinforced and secured all hanging
planters to the walls so that I don’t have to worry about them falling on my
head one day any more, and then, I cleaned up everything...
Everything looks so pretty now, and cozy
and jungley, and just as I wanted it!!
I love
taking baths here; particularly at that time of day when the world outside becomes
shadowy and hazy and the room acquires a natural dimmed light and the window catches
the lonely shadows of naked tree limbs outside.
It’s like being on a jungle all by yourself immersed in bubble bath! I love it so much!
This little dream of mine is not done yet. I need a few more hanging baskets, a chandelier and an owl! We’ll see! 😉

TUESDAYS AT OUR HOME
I am so envious of your beautiful bathroom with this huge soaking tub! I love your leafy wall hanging. Will it get ruined if it gets wet though?
ReplyDeleteI love my tub! A 'must' in winter time when you live in the cold north. About the tapestry getting ruined... thus far so good. The steam from hot water does not seems to affect it. I'm so glad!

Your tropical bath corner turned out amazing Cielo! The banana leaf wall hanging is perfect and gives the whole area a lush, Blue Lagoon sort of look. Even the brown backsplash looks like the stones you'd find around a lagoon. I can't wait to see it when you add more hanging plants. I am crossing my fingers that you unplug the fairy lights when you get into the tub though, lest a strand comes loose while you are bathing. Yikes! It's hard to imagine that there's snow outside that window!
ReplyDeleteI love that the background of the banana leaf wall hanging is white and because the walls are white too, it seems to blend into the panorama of the entire wall... I'm very pleased with my choice and now I want to keep adding plants and windchimes and whatnots! The Fisherman is already dreading this 'craziness' of mine because he prefers the “less than more” style, but I've told him! “If we move to the north again, this time our house will be a jungle inside during the winter month”, so there, nothing he can do now! 😉 the fairy lights are well secured onto the window, so I hope I won’t get electrocuted… ;)

Love, love love your jungle bathroom... I think you need a pretty fern on the ledge where you have the vase right now.
ReplyDeleteAhhh yes yes yesss! ;) I think so too! That would be perfect! Unfortunately, the only reason why I hadn't place another flower pot there is because the edge is so small, it only fits the candle. The only extra space around the tub are the four corners; and that's where I have the pots... too bad.
