Spring days?

Early mornings are so beautiful and precious to me...

My heart feels aglow with the sky, my lips whisper words of equal simplicity to the sweet morning air, and the little clouds like pink feathers are the crown in which my soul proclaims itself free—a cheerful invitation to make my life innocent and true and everything that’s good again.

And it seems to me too that, perhaps Old Winter is ready to part… already?   Oh, I so wish!  But it happens that the last couple of days or so have been so sunny and clear, that I want to believe we're bound for an early spring... like spring in February!  It was so sunny and warm this past Friday, in fact, that people were stepping outside their homes without having to wear their big thick coats, birds in the garden and their friends, Mr. and Mrs. Squirrel were seen everywhere, happily playing around from branch to branch and from tree to tree...

Then, we went to Edwards, and I ordered a Boscobel rose, and an Abraham Darby too!

Rosa ‘Boscobel’, is a bushy shrub rose with red buds opening to large, salmon-pink flowers throughout summer. Blooms have a pretty myrrh fragrance with hints of elderflower, pear and almond. Rosa ‘Boscobel’ was named after the wood in Shropshire where King Charles II hid from Cromwell’s soldiers during the Civil War.

And an Abraham Darby rose… what can I say!  I’ve been in love with this rose ever since I can remember.  And I will finally have one in my garden this year!

I’m so excited for spring!

This joy has kept me daydreaming a lot lately, making plans for the garden, about what I want to see there this year and what need to be done there to make my dreams come true, about being bronzed and molded by balmy breezes, warmth and sunshine, maddening, gladdening every one with a gypsy beauty full and fine!  And well, it does the soul good to dream!  So alas, let's make our world a better world to live by dreaming, and then by going out to plant beauty!

Treasure hunting day

I bought a new bed-cover for our upstairs bed last week...

Which, it really is not a bed-cover at all, but a tablecloth made bed-cover by me; simply, because I like it a lot in my gypsy room, and because it looks really cute on the bed and I really love the colors and flowery design so much! So alas, a tablecloth bedspread it is!

A few days before this, I had rearranged and moved things around in the room.  The little orange dresser and bed were moved to the opposite wall, which in turn left this other wall looking too emptied and totally out of character compared to everything else around the room.

So I decided that the black and white mandala I had hidden somewhere in the house was the magic touch I was after... and thus, I covered that wall with it, which in turn it made me want to go back to using the black and white patterned bedspread previously used on the bed before the tablecloth-bedspread came by... I just thought it matched so much better. Buah! So complicated, right! ;)  Oh but it looks so pretty now!

It was an instant change!

I like the little orange dresser placed on this wall so much better now!

Hum, more fairy lights in this corner, please!

On Tuesday, I went on a treasure hunt and found some super lovely things for my super lovely favorite room—a tall flower vase that I really like, including the awesome large silk flowers that came with it, all in the most incredible colors one could ever find!  Colors, in the same exact shades of my gypsy room, maroons, oranges, and cream.

I love them so much! Particularly because of the stem that sticks out, in imitation of the painting behind it.

I also found this pretty tulle dress in the same maroon color... a dress I won't be using ever, by love to use as part of my decorations...
...I also found this cute orange lampshade that matches so well with everything else here; like if it was meant just for this room!  Just had to have it, you know!  Oh dear!

A few embellishments on lamp and vase in the form of beads, old jewelry, lace ribbons and a couple of silk flowerets to bequeath my own personal flair to it, and I just love how everything looks here!

The only problem now is, I’ve run out of space to decorate and I'm feeling somewhat trapped… which means I won’t be able to continue on collecting pretty things any more, due to the fact that I don’t have another room in the house where to put them.  I simply won't permit the crazy maximalist collector part of my soul to do as it pleases and fill the house with unnecessary things.  One room is enough, right?  Oh, I’m sure I’d be a hoarder if I don’t control myself.  And that’s such scary thought.

Oh yes I want to make more Frida canvases and art work for my walls, and I want more fairy lights here more pillows more flowers more books and such, but I just can’t.

On Wednesday I mustered enough courage to go out into the garden and had a lovely super-fast little stroll that gave me an idea of how things are doing there.

Hard to believe that by this time last year, I had already started working outside, but I don’t feel as doing that yet this early in the year.  I worked so hard last year and because I left everything more or less looking perfectly well out there before winter came around, I don't have to work as hard this time, and thus I will wait for sunshine to melt every inch of snow before I get out there, or before I start to see the first tulip heads crowning the ground, enticing me to work outside.

Boho fashion, bohemian style, gypsy soul, old jewelry, living free, elements of bohemia, wanderer, love of fringe, bohemian dresses and skirts, free spirit, silk flowers, hair adornments, beads and lace ribbons, cats, the moon, boho chic, why do we love all these things?  I dunno!

My own Super Wolf Blood Moon

I brought my “Frida and the Monkeys” pillow downstairs and placed it here in my “green space” where most of my plants reside.  It looks perfect here along the black and white geometric designs of my décor and the dark green of the plants, making the space look more like a real garden with that wild and jungle feel to it that I so love.

This space makes me so happy during our long winter days!

And then, this Sunday, the Fisherman surprised me with this…

My own Super Wolf Blood Moon, so I can now see it every night, and day too!

This is actually a Himalayan Salt Lamp, which not only adds organic charm to my already macrobiotic space, but also it is supposed to provide ample health benefits, such as allergy relief, improvement of sleep quality and reduction of anxiety.

When switched on (and I always keep mine on), it's supposed to attract airborne water molecules loaded with irritants. These microscopic droplets eventually come into contact with the crystalline salt and evaporate, leaving behind the problematic particles they once contained and eliminating pollutants from the air. They can also correct circadian imbalances via their patented pink or orange glow, signaling the brain to reduce neurological activity and lay the groundwork for a good night's sleep.  The pink or orange glow generate supports relaxation.

And I love its crystalline structure and orange coloration and lines that resemble a real Blood Moon!  And you can change the intensity of its lighting too by switching it to really bright or to a soft dimmed light!

And speaking of the ‘real Blood Moon’ btw, what disappointment it was!  I mean, not being able to see it.  For, even went I went out of my comfy warm nest on several occasions to ventured out into the cold night wanting to see it, I could not find it.  For some inexplicable reason, it was the night of all nights when not a trace of moon was seen in the entire sky.  Not even its light.  As if the moon had disappeared when it was supposed to be the closest to Earth.

Guess I’ll try again tonight, but in the meantime, I cannot stop looking at this gem!

Love it so much!

Super Wolf Blood Moon

We woke up to a murky sky today, and it continued on being gloomy and stormy all day long; as if snow was sitting on the edge of the earth ready to descend upon us mortals in some sort of slow waves, and with the lethargy in which time goes by on somber hours, when it is dark in the soul and nightfall has set.

Around noon the atmosphere got really thick with large ominous clouds that brought a great darkness. If I looked at that dusky sky for too long, it then became a furious sea in high tide with dark arched waves, where a pool of sapphire waters, similar to a summer sky reassured my castaway soul in the midst of such fury.

Guiding me to a safe place, a refuge of peaceful assurance and trust in the Everlasting Creator of all

And there was felt also this kind of inexplicable excitement in the darkened atmosphere; as if humans were in the brink of something unforeseen and predictable at the same time; a sense of devastation and salvation and of upcoming events impossible to explain.  And perhaps… perhaps it was just the way Nature has in foretelling the future, and making us aware of the unknown, or maybe it just had something to do with the rare celestial event predicted for tonight, when the full moon will appear to glow red, as sunlight scatters and refracts around Earth?

Whatever it was, I believe that from now on this earth will be seeing great things unfolding… Therefore, keep on watching. Be ready.
